Dr Mary Tilki
Dr Mary Tilki is a nurse by background and latterly a university lecturer teaching and researching health and social care. Mary has a particular interest in ethnic health inequalities, especially those affecting older people and has researched and published several articles over the last 20 years. She has been active in the Irish voluntary sector for over 20 years and her doctoral thesis was about the Health of the Irish in London. In recent years Mary has been concerned about dementia, not just in the Irish community but in all BME groups as well as in wider society. She is co–founder of Cuimhne –The Irish Memory Loss Alliance and an active contributor to Community Action on Dementia Brent. Mary sits on the Cuimhne Champions advisory steering committee and volunteers her time and skills to deliver Cuimhne Champion training and speak at public events.
