This interactive two-day training is designed for professionals who work with groups of family members and groups of young people, and who want to develop their skills and confidence in delivering impactful sessions and workshops. The skills learned will also be helpful in having effective one-to-one and smaller group conversations.
Participants will learn to integrate strength-based conversations (inspired by Solution-Focused Brief Therapy) and trauma-informed principles into their sessions.
Day 1 focuses on understanding strength-based and trauma-informed approaches, delivery of current workshops, and identifying facilitation strengths and areas for growth.
Day 2 provides hands-on practice, where participants refine their current workshops or design new ones, practice delivering workshop segments, and receive constructive feedback.
By the end of the training, participants will:
- Incorporate strength-based and trauma-informed approaches to create a safe and inclusive environment in which to communicate with one person, a family or a group
- Develop techniques for leading effective conversations which promote progress
- Build confidence in facilitation and group dynamics management
